A cold front will gradually move towards our area… crossing overnight. Ahead of it, it’ll remain mild today with highs near 60°. However, the winds will gradually increase as the day goes on… with sustained winds of 20-25mph by tonight – Wednesday. Winds will gust over 40mph at times during that timeframe…hence a WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT. Winds that strong could down tree limbs & power lines…and make driving difficult. Please secure loose yard items today before the winds increase.
Outside of a few spotty showers this afternoon, the best chance for rain will be after 8PM tonight through early Wednesday morning (affiliated with the previously mentioned cold front). Rainfall estimates of .5″ – 1″ are possible, and isolated severe storms with damaging ‘thunderstorm winds’ are possible for extreme Western KY. Behind the cold front, temps fall off… but highs will stay in the 50s Wednesday. Winds relax by Wednesday night with lows dropping into the low-mid 30s by Thanksgiving morning.
Thanksgiving Day brings dry conditions for most of the state, but isolated showers are possible for Western KY in the afternoon. Highs will stay around the Mid-40s with mainly cloudy skies.
Black Friday morning brings Mid-Upper 30s with a few showers by the afternoon and highs in the 40s.
Weekend brings rain on Saturday with upper 50s and 40s by Sunday with evening showers (that could include a wintry mix late. Stay tuned for updates).
