The Jet Stream is to our north…allowing for an upper level ridge to set up over us. This pattern brings dry and unseasonable warm conditions. So, get ready for a Christmas Eve filled with sunshine and highs hovering around the Mid 60s for many KY cities. Average highs should generally be around the Mid 40s this time of year, but temps will be roughly 20 degrees above that today! Tonight, lows will range from the Upper 30s to low 40s under a partly cloudy sky…making for nice traveling weather for Santa as he delivers gifts tonight.
Christmas Day brings another mild day with upper 60s…very close to Record Highs. There will be additional clouds in the sky, but it will be an overall nice day. Mild weather will follow us through the start of the weekend.
Saturday, a few afternoon showers are possible with highs in the Mid 60s. However, a cold front will move across the state on Sunday bringing a likely rain chance. For now, it looks like the front will move out by Monday morning…but lingering moisture could meet up with cold air. So, there could be some snow showers early Monday… stay tuned as we continue to monitor that potential.
