Actress Jennifer Lawrence Gives Millions to Norton Children’s Hospital

LOUIVILLE, Ky. – Louisville-actress Jennifer Lawrence has made a habit of visiting children’s hospitals during the holiday season. Today she made a virtual stop at Norton Children’s Hospital to announce a $2 million donation to the cardiac intensive unit.

The Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility for pediatric heart patients. The sole focus of the unit is patient care and recovery. Lawrence wasn’t at the announcement in person but sent a message stating how much she appreciates and supports the work doctors do at the hospital.

Lawrence’s parents were on hand for the announcement and told the crowd the entire Lawrence family hopes the new space will ease some of the stress and burden families of heart patients endure.

More than 5,000 children a year visit Norton Children’s Heart Institute for Specialize Heart Care. The center performs more than 17,500 procedures each year.
