A stubborn low cloud deck DID NOT want to let go of many areas yesterday including both Louisville & Lexington, and the PM Highs for those cities really suffered. However, we are expecting more of a mix of clouds & sun today…which should allow temps to reach their full potential. So, we’re expecting highs around 80° this afternoon courtesy of a SE wind ushering in some warmer air ahead of an approaching cold front. The front won’t cross our area until Friday evening…allowing another day of near 80° temps for the last day of the workweek.
However, the front will bring a good chance of showers Friday afternoon / early evening for areas west of I-65… east of I-65 late Friday night through Saturday morning (before sunrise). Rainfall estimates will range from .10″ – .25″, but isolated areas (especially across Western KY) could get up to .50″ of rain.
Behind the Front, get ready for much colder weather. There will be a 20° difference in temperatures between Friday afternoon & Saturday afternoon as highs only reach the low 60s. Sunday morning, it looks like temps could dip into the 30s (which hasn’t happened since last April for Louisville and Lexington.
Temps warm into the 70s by Sunday afternoon, and we’ll take the 70s into early next week.
