The Countdown to 2020

An Upper Level Low is spiraling across the Great Lakes, and it’s keeping us under a cloudy sky. Extreme parts of Northern KY could have a few light snow showers later this afternoon affiliated with this upper low, but most of the KY stays dry. However, it’ll remain breezy today with wind gusts ranging from 20-30mph. This will add an extra ‘bite” to the air…keeping the wind chill values in the 20s through the morning and low 30s through the afternoon.
Tonight… expect rain/snow free conditions and temps in the Mid-Upper 30s around Midnight (wind chills in the upper 20s and low 30s). New Year’s Day will start with mainly cloudy skies for areas along I-65 and points east, but expect more sunsine as the day goes on. Highs will reach around 50°.
Thursday, rain is likely…same for Friday. Yet, temps will be warmer than average with highs in the low 50s Thursday & Upper 50s Friday. A cold front crosses Friday night, and COLDER air will move in. This colder air mass will have enough moisture in place to create a wintry mix for our area for the 1st day of the weekend. Stay tuned for updates.
