Louisville Police and Santa Surprise Shoppers with Gifts

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Shoppers at four Kroger Marketplace locations were surprised Friday with unexpected holiday cheer.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus, along with members of Louisville Metro Police, greeted customers throughout the store and parking lot with $30 gift cards.

“The thing about it is everybody needs a little holiday cheer,” Russell Miller told Spectrum News 1. “And sometimes people need it and they need to be reminded what it was like to be a child.”

This is the second year Kroger and LMPD have joined forces for this particular giveaway.

“Last year was out first year! I started as event coordinator about three years ago over and (since) we’ve done 150 events with the LMPD,” Stephanie Ratliff, Kroger’s Community Event Coordinator, said.

In total the merry crew gave out $3,000 worth of Kroger gift cards.
