Much Needed Rain is in Today’s Forecast

We will be under an unsettled pattern through Tuesday evening.  An upper level disturbance is helping to enhance today’s rain, and a cold front will move into our Region tomorrow…triggering more wet weather. So, make sure to carry the umbrella the next couple of days.  Severe weather is not expected today, but welcomed rainfall amounts are expected through tomorrow…possibly up to 1″.   Many areas across KY are “Abnormally Dry,” and around the Louisville area the drought situation is up to “Moderate.”  So, again, this rain is helpful (especially since it’ll be spread out over two days vs. a lot of rain falling in a short amount of time).

Highs will suffer today due to clouds and rain-cooled air. Most areas won’t hit 80° ( which will be around 10° BELOW average).  It’ll warm up into the Mid-Upper 80s for Tuesday ahead of an approaching cold front.  As the front moves in, the best chance for storms will be in the afternoon ahead of it.  The front will cross by late afternoon/early evening, and drier weather moves in behind it.  So, your Wednesday will be less muggy with sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. Thursday will be similar, but upper 80s return by Friday ahead of another weak front that’ll move in.  For now, next weekend could bring some isolated afternoon showers…with highs in the Mid 80s. Stay tuned…
