Happy New Year! Clouds will be on the increase as we head into early Thursday morning with rain showers moving into southern Kentucky by mid morning. Showers will continue to spread in from south to north during the afternoon hours. We’ll see off and on rain showers Thursday night into Friday with afternoon highs in the 50s on Thursday and Friday.
Colder air will begin to filter across the Commonwealth Friday night into Saturday. For that reason, rain showers may mix with light snow showers on Saturday with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. With surface temperatures above freezing, no major problems are expected on the roadways throughout the day on Saturday.
Rain totals through Saturday will range from 1 to 2 inches, with parts of southern Kentucky possibly picking up over 2 inches. It will be dry Sunday and Monday with highs in the middle to upper 40s.
