Clouds will increase through the overnight hours with lows in the lower to middle 30s. Rain will move into southern Kentucky after midnight and move to the northeast through early Tuesday morning. Temperatures will cool enough to give some areas a mix of rain and snow through the morning hours across the eastern half of the state. Although any snow accumulations will be minor, there may be some along and east of I-75 and south of I-64. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for a couple dozen counties (See map above) in central and eastern Kentucky through 8am Tuesday.
Dry conditions are expected for Tuesday afternoon with highs in the middle to upper 40s. We’ll see more sunshine Wednesday with highs in the 40s for most of the state. Clouds and a few rain showers will return to the Commonwealth late Thursday with rain likely Friday into Saturday. Flooding will be a concern Friday night into Saturday with parts of western Kentucky potentially picking up as much as 3 to 5 inches of rainfall. Although it will be wet Friday and Saturday, it will be mild with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Everybody will dry out Sunday with cooler highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
