Governor Beshear Reestablishes Workplace Safety Board

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Governor Andy Beshear says strengthening workplaces and worker safety is crucial and it’s the reason behind his reestablishment of a state board that will oversee workplace safety regulations.

“Every Kentuckian should be safe at their place of employment,” Gov. Andy Beshear said. “We have worked with industry leaders to reestablish the board and ensure we have professionals from across the Commonwealth who are committed to helping strengthen our workplace safety standards.”

The Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board members are:

  • Kenneth Nichter, Louisville
  • Mac Stone, Georgetown
  • Traci Byrd, Murray
  • Angela Bednark, La Grange
  • Caitlin Blair, Louisville
  • Hampton Henton, Versailles
  • Keith Murt, Paducah
  • John Stovall, Louisville
  • James Kay, Sr., Versailles
  • Charles Stephen Sparrow, Lawrenceburg
  • John Holbrook, Sandy Hook
  • William Carey, Lawrenceburg

Former Governor Matt Bevin abolished the then 13-member board and transferred all of its powers to the labor secretary.
