Winds will be a big part of the weather story as we head into Saturday with gusts as highs as 40 to 50 mph around the Commonwealth. for that reason, a Wind Advisory is in effect throughout the day. The heaviest rain will move into western Kentucky early Saturday and work its way to the east throughout the day. The heavy rain and storms will likely cross I-65 around midday. The line of showers will cross the I-75 corridor by mid to late afternoon. High wind gusts will be the primary threat with any strong storms that develop, although a quick spin-up is not out of the question. The Storm Prediction Center has painted a severe risk across most of the Commonwealth for Saturday.
High temperatures will be 20-30 degrees above average on Saturday, which will put most areas in record territory. It will be dry and cooler on Sunday with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. More showers will be possible on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
