We had more spotty light snow showers & flurries this morning, but expect improving weather as High Pressure slides over the region later today. There should be a mix of clouds & sunshine by this afternoon with Highs reaching the low-mid 30s. Although it will still be a very cold day, highs in the 30s will be an improvement from yesterday when highs stayed in the 20s. Tonight, temps will fall back into the Teens & Low 20s under a mainly clear sky, but a southeasterly wind returns on Wednesday…leading to a more noticeable warm up by the afternoon. Highs Wednesday will reach the seasonable Mid 40s…with even warmer weather for Thursday (low 50s).
However, Thursday, the next system will slowly approach KY from the west. Scattered showers are possible for Western KY by Thursday evening, and rain is likely for all of KY by Friday as an area of Low pressure slides across our state. Less than 1″ of rainfall is expected on Friday, but a dusting of snow (for some areas) is possible by Saturday as colder air catches up to the moisture. Actually, it’ll be more-so a wintry mix for most … with highs in the 30s. Sunday, flurries could linger; otherwise, just a mainly cloudy day with highs near 40°.
It looks like it may warm up again for early next week…stay tuned.
