An Unsettled Weather Pattern Starts Today

Clouds dominate the sky this morning, but they helped in keeping our temps above the freezing mark overnight (along with a southerly wind).  The 1st half of our day looks rather uneventful, but showers will sneak into the western half of the state through the afternoon and evening…with rain likely across most of KY late tonight into Friday morning.  Moderate to heavy rain can be expected at times with the rainfall intensity slacking up to pesky light showers or drizzle by Friday afternoon & evening.  Rainfall estimates of up to 1″ are possible (with localized areas getting a little more).

There will still be some lingering moisture across our area for Saturday while colder air slides in; so, a wintry mix is expected across parts of the state to kick-off the weekend.  Not much more than a dusting is possible for most of KY (but parts of Northern KY could get around 1″).   As for now, it looks relatively quiet as we head into early next week.

Temperature wise, it will be a little warmer this afternoon compared to yesterday with mid-upper 40s.  Lows will hover near 40° tonight (mild)… with mid 40s expected for Friday.  Highs will stay in the 30s for most on Saturday, but a slow warm up is expected Sunday into early next week…with 50s expected by Tuesday.
