An upper level disturbance will slide across our Region today, and it’s creating a mixed bag of weather for parts of KY. This morning, a Wintry Mix is expected for areas west of I-65 (mainly for areas closest to the Ohio River). By noon, any Wintry Weather will transfer to light rain showers (still for areas west of I-65). Then, a switch back to a wintry mix for some spots will be possible later tonight through early on Thursday (impacting the eastern 2/3 of the state). Don’t expect much of any accumulations outside of a dusting. Highs will stay in the low 40s.
Once that previously mentioned upper level feature moves out, High pressure will have an influence for the rest of Thursday. Yet, it’ll be more-so a “Dirty High” as additional clouds may linger throughout the day. Highs for Thursday will reach the Mid 40s. The next system moves in Friday into Saturday. A few showers will be possible both days, but neither day will be a wash out.
Sunday (also known as Super Bowl Sunday & Groundhog Day) brings partly sunny skies and a return of Southerly winds…which means a warm up! Highs Sunday will reach the Mid-Upper 50s …. with 60s possible early next week. However, early next week also brings a chance for possible showers/storms…stay tuned.
