A cold front crossed the state last night, and much colder air is moving in behind it. As the system moves away, High pressure is trying to move in. The difference between the two pressure areas is leading to WINDY conditions with sustained winds of 20-30mph, and gusts could be as strong as 40mph. The NW wind has ushered in chilly air…with PM highs only in the low-mid 40s (roughly 20 degrees colder then yesterday). Also, an upper level trough of low pressure is sliding across our area. This feature is helping to squeeze out light showers (some being in the form of light snow). Accumulations much more than a dusting aren’t expected.
As the upper level disturbance moves away, High pressure slides in…leading to sunshine for the weekend! Although Saturday morning will be very cold with 20s, Highs will rebound into the low-mid 50s as a southerly wind returns. Sunday brings a return of 60s with partly cloudy skies. So, enjoy the weekend weather because our next rain maker arrives Monday afternoon through Tuesday. For now, it looks like some showers may linger into Midweek…stay tuned.
**Don’t forget to set your clocks FORWARD 1 hour before bed on Saturday Night. Daylight Saving Time begins at 2AM on Sunday morning. Expect later sunsets soon…**
