Colder Air Settles in Through the End of the Workweek

We’re now behind a cold front, and it’s MUCH colder this AM compared to yesterday morning by 20-25 degrees. Thankfully, there will be nice sunshine today… and highs will rebound close to average with Mid 40s. Tonight, clouds return and temps will hover near 30 degrees.  Thursday, expect a cloudier 1st half of the day with a Canadian Ridge of High Pressure getting closer to our area. This means colder air will gradually filter into the region with highs staying in the 30s for many cities.  By Friday morning, the Canadian High will have its FRIGID air mass right over our region. So, expect the coldest morning of the week with TEENS to kick-off your Friday.  Thankfully, abundant sunshine can be expected. Yet, afternoon highs will only make it to around 40 degrees.

Saturday morning, the Cold Canadian High will still sit over our region…leading to a morning of low 20s.  However, the High will gradually shift to the SE United States…allowing the southerly wind to return.  So, Saturday afternoon’s high will rebound to around 50 degrees. Low-mid 50s are on deck by Sunday afternoon.  The weekend looks relatively dry overall, but showers could sneak in by Sunday evening for parts of KY.

The next best chance for rain will be Monday as an area of Low pressure and its cold front slides across our state. Stay tuned for updates on the timing of this system.
