Man identified after deadly hit-and-run in southwest Jefferson County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police are investigating a deadly Sunday hit-and-run in southwest Jefferson County. 

Investigators say a witness saw a car hit an object in the road on Stonestreet Road at Valley College Drive, then drive off.

When the witness got closer, the saw it was a man that had been hit.

The coroner later identified the man as 62-year-old James Stuart of Highview.

Police say they believe a second vehicle had actually hit Stuart earlier in the night and also drove away.
