Rain can be expected throughout the day due to an area of low pressure that’ll slide across the state. Expect periods of moderate to heavy rain through the morning, with possible storms this afternoon. Areas south of I-64 could have some isolated strong to severe storms to deal with. Damaging wind and hail will be the primary threats, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. Rainfall estimates of .5″ – 1.5″ can be expected. Highs will remain in the 60s for most areas, but some areas along & N. of I-64 will stay in the 50s due to rain cooled air.
The system moves out tonight, but areas east of I-65 could have linger light showers through Mid morning Friday. Otherwise, most enjoy a dry Friday with decreasing clouds as the day goes on. It’ll also warm up with 70s expected.
Round 2 of rain moves in for Saturday; so, plan on a soggy start to the weekend.
