A Warming Trend During April Could Lead to Strong Storms

As the new month approaches, April looks to be warmer than normal across the much of the United States.

What You Need To Know

  • Spring brings the heat
  • The Plains will likely be the warmest compared to normal
  • There could be severe weather impacts

Spring matures as the weeks continue, and with the sun’s rays getting stronger, we can expect temperatures to rise steadily.

Warmer weather is to be expected this time of year. However, many regions may see above-average highs for the month, overall. This trend will likely spread into the Ohio Valley, Deep South, and East Coast.

With this extra warmth happening during severe weather season, the probability of seeing stronger thunderstorms may also increase. Weather patterns that produce severe weather thrive off warmer temperatures.

Each situation is unique, but it will be something to watch in the coming weeks.
