New developments headed to Nulu neighborhood

According to the timeline on their website, Joe Ley Hotel should finish construction by June 1st of this year.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There’s going to be a new hotel in the NULU neighborhood. It’s being spearheaded by the New York development group Campisano Capital, led by Louisville local Nick Campisano. 

A historic landmark in Louisville is becoming a boutique hotel. It started out as a school building in 1890 and was then taken over by Joe Ley Antiques. 

Now it’ll become part of the Urban Cowboy Hotel chain.

The property on East Market Street is called Joe Ley Hotel, according to Campisano Capital’s website. Joe Ley East will also be a mixed-use property. They will have a restaurant, bourbon bar and art exhibit, along with offices and apartments. 

According to the timeline on their website, Joe Ley Hotel should finish construction by June 1st of this year. Joe Ley East is expected to be under construction until January 1st 2022. 

These new developments come as another hotel may be heading to 730 East Market Street. In the project description filed through the city, it says the 6-story hotel will have 120 rooms and a restaurant. It will also have an art garden that will connect Market and Jefferson streets through the Green building and Rabbit Hole Distillery. 

we’re still waiting to see when both of these hotels plan to open up to the public.
