LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame announced its class of 2021 and two former WHAS11 journalists are among those being honored. Melissa Swan and the late Chuck Olmstead will be inducted to the Hall of Fame on May 4.
Swan spent 31 years with WHAS11 before retiring in 2016. She not only worked as a reporter and an anchor, but was also the face of the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Olmstead was the original Action reporter, helping viewers for 34 years before he passed away suddenly in 2009 from a ruptured brain aneurysm. His wife, Candy, has continued his legacy through the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund which provides funding for aneurysm screenings.
